You must take out health insurance if you are coming to the Uk for less than 6 months. This is because you may only be entitled to basic emergency services free of charge.

If you are on a course for six months or more you are entitled to free treatment from the National Health Service from the beginning of your stay.
EEA nationals should fill out form E128 in their own country of residence. They will be entitled to treatment the same as students who are here for more than six months.
Students are entitled to the following;
- The contraceptive pill and emergency contraception (morning after pill) which are both free.
- Emergency treatment at an NHS hospital.
- Emergency dental treatment at an NHS hospital.
- Emergency eye treatment at an NHS hospital.
- Emergency treament includes only the minimum requirement to safe life.
